SUPERVISOR'S NAME:
none (self)
AND PHONE:
(561) 732-xxxx
DESCRIBE YOUR DUTIES AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
I was manager and half owner (along with James Newman) of a decorator's
workroom. Almost all aspects of the business: upholstery, cutting, frame
building, record keeping, telephone, writing estimates, and janitor. I
am currently learning to sew. At times supervised anywhere from zero to
four employees who would be considered either upholsters, seamstresses,
or trainees.
I began working with James in February 1994 and we rapidly built his
small home-based upholstery shop into a successful business (about 50K/yr
gross). In 1995 I left to work in Yellowstone Park (I was having some problems
with James). James convinced me to return, so I did in early 1998. After
quickly rebuilding the business in four good months James became seriously
ill. Since then I have primarily been taking care of James at home. I still
do occasional work in the shop, or out of the shop, but nowhere near full
time.

DESCRIBE YOUR DUTIES AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
I was hired as a room attendant at the
Lake Hotel, then promoted to porter my
first summer. I worked the winter season at Old Faithful Snowlodge
as a room
attendant. I was hired as a room inspector the next summer, a porter
again in the
winter, and as the assistant housekeeping manager for the Lake Hotel
my last
summer.
I quickly learned enough in this seasonal work that I was basically
running the day-to-day housekeeping operations for just over 100 cabins.
I was also the primary trainer at our location for all the employees at
both the Lake Hotel and the cabins. Yellowstone called several times, and
offered me a Housekeeping manager job, or an assistant job, for the summer
of 1998, but it would not have been practical to take James to such a remote
location.
